Providing Cave Conservation and Management
Services in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Tennessee

Caves  Closed

All ACC caves are closed until further notice due to White Nose Syndrome, a disease fatal to many species of bats.

The Appalachian Cave Conservancy board resolved that each cave under the management of ACC shall be closed to all recreational caving and cave survey trips until further notice and that during the same period management related trips will only be allowed on a case by case basis and then only in full compliance with the most recent disinfection procedures recommended by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
